Description for the safari
Day 1: Trip from Zanzibar to Arusha and game drive at Tarangire national park
Day one pick up from Hotel at 6:00 am and 08:00 flight to Arusha
Pick up with Safari car and Water and Lunch box to Tarangire national park
Game drive at Tarangire national park. The park is famous for its high density of Elephants and Baobab trees. Visitors to the park in the June to November dry season can expect to see large herds of thousands of zebra, wildebeest and cape buffalo. Other common resident animals include waterbuck, giraffe, dik dik, impala, eland, Grant’s gazelle, vervet monkey, banded mongoose, and olive baboon. Predators in Tarangire include African lion, leopard, cheetah, caracal, honey badger, and African wild dog.
Full board night at Octagon lodge at Karatu town.
Day 2: Game drive at Ngorongoro crater
Breakfast around 7:00 am and drive to Ngorongoro Conversation area gate in approximately 20 minutes.
Start Game drive at Ngorongoro crater and lunch in the noon.
The area has large number of animals. There are wildebeests, zebras, Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelles. The crater also has the densest known population of lions. Higher up in the rain forests of the crater rim, are leopards, large elephants, mountain, buffaloes, spotted hyenas, jackals, rare wild dogs, cheetahs and other felines. The migrants passing through the plains of the reserve include wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles. All big five can be spotted in Ngorongoro crater.
After a full day of game drive until 1700 hrs you return to Octagon lodge.
Day 3: Game drive at Manyara national park and flying back to Zanzibar.
Breakfast early in the morning and a half day safari at Lake Manyara National Park
Lake Manyara National Park is known for the flamingos that inhabit the lake. During the wet season they inhabit the edges of the lake in flocks of thousands but they are not so present during the dry season. More than 400 species of birds inhabit the park and many remain throughout the year. Because of this Lake Manyara National Park is a good spot for bird watching.
Leopards, Masai lions, cheetahs, elephants, blue monkeys, dik-dik, gazelles, hippopotamus, Masai giraffe, impala, zebras and many more wild animals inhabit this park and many can be seen throughout the year. There is a hippo pond at one end of the park where visitors can get out of their cars and observe from a safe distance.
After lunch in the noon driving back to Arusha airport.
At 16:30 flight back from Arusha to Zanzibar arriving around 17:30 pm and return to Hotel in Zanzibar.
